Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield once again proved he’s not just fierce on the field — he’s equally fiery with a mic in front of him.
And this time, his target? The New Orleans Saints.
Ahead of Sunday’s matchup, Mayfield was asked about the Bucs’ rivalry with the Saints — and he didn’t hold back.
“It hasn’t exactly been clean play from their part when we play them,” Mayfield told reporters, adding, “It’s a physical game. It is what it is. You expect it, division rival. Yeah, not much else to say besides the fact that I don’t like them.”

This isn’t the first time he’s thrown verbal punches at New Orleans. Back in 2024, after a blowout win over the Saints, Mayfield launched a late-game pass to Mike Evans just to keep his 1,000-yard season streak alive. When asked if he felt bad about it, Mayfield doubled down with another classic line:
“I hate the Saints – absolutely not.”
So yeah, Baker might not like the Saints, but he sure loves beating them. He’s faced them five times in his career, going 3-1 as a Buc with 1,101 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. Tampa Bay even went 2-0 against New Orleans last season — outscoring them by 32 points combined.
Statistically, Mayfield’s on fire this year — completing over 64% of his passes for 1,767 yards, 13 touchdowns, and just 2 picks. Sure, his last game against the Lions was a dud (just 9 points), but with the Bucs at 5-2 and the Saints sitting dead last at 1-6, this rivalry is feeling more like a one-sided roast.
Let’s face it — Baker Mayfield is the NFL’s lovable villain. You may hate him, but you can’t stop watching him.
