Boston College isn’t exactly flying high this season — more like nose-diving straight into the ground. The record? 1–8. Yep, just one win and eight painful losses. Fans are understandably frustrated, and when one brave reporter decided to ask head coach Bill O’Brien about his message to those upset fans, things got spicy real fast.
It all went down during Tuesday’s weekly press conference. Instead of delivering a calm, encouraging message to his struggling fanbase, O’Brien went full defense mode and absolutely snapped at the question.

Translation: the fans might be down, but Bill sure isn’t. “We’re fighting, we’re competing…” — sounds great on paper, but judging by the Eagles’ record, the “fighting” part might be happening off the field instead of on it.
At 56 years old, O’Brien has seen his fair share of highs and lows — from Penn State to the Houston Texans, then a stop at Ohio State, and now Boston College. His first season (7–6) gave fans a little hope, but this one? Total disaster mode.
Let’s be real: BC fans probably expected some reassurance, not a verbal blitz. But if there’s one thing Bill O’Brien doesn’t lack, it’s confidence. Even with a 1–8 record, he insists, “Nobody’s down!”
The only question now is — if Boston College loses again, will he say, “We’re still fighting”? Or just tackle the reporters next?
