Minnesota Vikings quarterback Carson Wentz has officially wrapped up his 2025 season — yep, it’s over! The veteran QB is set to undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Wentz suffered the injury back on October 5th while filling in for J.J. McCarthy.

The crazy part? He’s been playing through a dislocated shoulder that also had a torn labrum and a fractured socket. Basically, his shoulder was hanging on like a cheap IKEA shelf, but Wentz still kept playing like a warrior.

Translation: The dude played through the pain until his arm basically screamed, “Bro, I’m done!” You gotta respect that level of toughness — this man was one pass away from turning into the NFL’s version of the Terminator.

Luckily for the Vikings, there’s a silver lining. Reports say J.J. McCarthy is expected to return as the starter this Sunday against the Detroit Lions. So, while Wentz heads to season-ending injured reserve, the show will go on.

That leaves just one other QB on the roster — undrafted rookie Max Brosmer. Somewhere, a Vikings coach is probably waking up every morning whispering, “Please don’t let our last QB get hurt.”

Wentz’s career has always been a roller coaster of “amazing comeback” and “unfortunate setback.” This surgery just adds another twist to the saga. But hey — after playing through a dislocated shoulder with a torn labrum, he deserves at least the Pain Management MVP Award of the NFL season.
