Chiefs Miss the Playoffs — And Somehow Taylor Swift Takes the Blame

The Kansas City Chiefs’ season collapsed like a bad Wi-Fi connection, and now the excuses are flying faster than a Mahomes no-look pass. Injuries, bad offense, shaky play-calling — sure. But according to LA Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua, the real culprit behind the Chiefs missing the playoffs is none other than… Taylor Swift. Yes, that Taylor Swift.

During a chaotic livestream, Nacua decided to go fully unfiltered, delivering a take that instantly detonated across social media. In one swing, he blamed Swift for the Chiefs’ downfall and roasted the Chargers for good measure. The internet captured it exactly like this:

One clip, two fanbases offended, and a brand-new NFL villain unlocked.

According to Nacua’s logic, the Chiefs’ struggles weren’t just about football. He pointed to the lack of weapons, a weak run game, and then casually wrapped it all up with the now-viral explanation — the “Swift curse.” Apparently, once the “juice” ran out, so did Kansas City’s Super Bowl magic.

Of course, context matters. The Chiefs missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL and is recovering from surgery. Travis Kelce, nearing the end of his legendary career, now faces a major decision about whether to return for a 14th season or walk away before 2026. But sure — let’s blame the pop star in the luxury suite.

What makes the take even funnier? The Chiefs won the Super Bowl two years ago and reached the Super Bowl last season — both during the height of Swift’s presence at Arrowhead Stadium. If that’s a curse, most franchises would like to sign up immediately.

Nacua wasn’t done burning bridges, either. He turned his attention to NFL referees, accusing them of loving the spotlight a little too much:

“The refs are the worst,” Nacua said. “… These guys want to be on TV too. You don’t think he’s texting his friends in the group chat like, ‘Yo, you guys just saw me on ‘Sunday Night Football.’ That wasn’t P.I., but I called it.'”

Between attacking refs, clowning the Chargers, and blaming Taylor Swift for an NFL collapse, Nacua managed to speed-run his way into “most hated player” conversations — all without throwing a single pass.

Meanwhile, Swift has quietly faded into the background at Chiefs games, no longer dominating broadcasts or stadium screens. But apparently, even low-key Swift still has enough power to derail an entire franchise… at least according to Puka.
