Player Updates

  • Xavier Worthy (WR, Shoulder): Worthy has been a pleasant surprise this week, returning to practice after leaving Week 1’s game against the Chargers with a dislocated shoulder. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed that Worthy participated in some team drills on Friday. Officially, he is listed as doubtful, meaning there’s less than a 50% chance he will play on Sunday.
  • Jalen Royals (WR, Knee): Royals continues to deal with tendonitis in his knee and was held out of practice all week. Reid described Royals’ availability as “a stretch,” and he has now officially been ruled out for the Eagles game.
  • Trey Smith (G, Knee/Illness) & Drue Tranquill (LB, Knee): Both players were upgraded from limited to full participation during the week and are good to go for Sunday’s matchup.
  • Other Players: Wide receiver Hollywood Brown, tackle Jawaan Taylor, defensive linemen Ashton Gillotte and Omarr Norman-Lott, linebacker Nick Bolton, and defensive back Chamarri Conner all practiced fully on Friday and are expected to play.

Understanding NFL Injury Status

  • Out: Player will not play.
  • Doubtful: Less than 50% chance to play.
  • Questionable: Roughly 50% chance to play.
  • Full Participant (FP): Participated fully in practice.
  • Limited Participant (LP): Participated in limited drills.

The “probable” designation, once used for players with a greater than 50% chance of playing, has been discontinued.

Final Thoughts

The Chiefs enter Week 2 with a mostly healthy roster, with the only major absence being Jalen Royals. Xavier Worthy remains a game-time decision, but the rest of the key contributors are ready for action. Fans can expect Kansas City to bring a strong squad to Arrowhead as they look to bounce back and secure a win against the Eagles.
