Refs Stop Cowboys’ Comeback in Its Tracks as Jake Ferguson’s OPI Call Sparks TNF Outrage

Watching live, it was clear even the TV official didn’t agree with the call.

Social media immediately erupted. Cowboys fans went straight for the keyboards. One fan wrote

The replay clearly showed Ferguson using a legal “swim move,” yet he was penalized. Frustration peaked with this comment

Ultimately, the penalty was declined, and the Cowboys managed a field goal to narrow the gap. But the drama wasn’t over—Jahmyr Gibbs’ run led to another Lions touchdown, sealing a 44-30 victory. Even earlier in the game, a near-safety on Prescott had been overturned, adding to the controversial decisions. Overall, it felt like the referees, not the players, were the main story of this matchup.
