Football fans, it’s been pretty clear lately—when the Dallas Cowboys are running on empty, one player can still carry the whole team. Week 5 against the New York Jets proved it: that man is Dak Prescott.
By the time the Meadowlands emptied out, a small but loud group of fans stuck around for their hero. As Dak left the field, they were chanting, “M-V-P!”
Dak smiled, “I mean, my ears work, so I heard it,” but added, “But I didn’t hear it. It’s Week 5.”

A little grin, but a big message—this quarterback is the heart of the Cowboys.
The numbers speak for themselves: 71.3% completion, 1,356 passing yards, 10 touchdown passes, and just 3 interceptions. But the real story is how Dak leads the team with so little support. This week, the Cowboys were missing their No.1 receiver CeeDee Lamb, four starters on the offensive line, and backup running back Miles Sanders plus reserve receiver KaVontae Turpin.
Still, Dak delivered. Against the Jets, he went 18-of-29 for 237 yards and 4 touchdown passes, with a passer rating of 127.4. Over the last two games without Lamb, he’s thrown for 556 yards and 7 touchdowns—zero interceptions.

It’s not just on the field—Dak is the glue keeping the team together. He guided new offensive linemen and inexperienced receivers during practice, motivating them and setting the tone for the games.
Against the Jets, he even hit Pickens with a 43-yard touchdown pass, when Pickens was basically the only real threat left.

He also helped turn rookies like Ryan Flournoy into stars.
In short, Dak is showing why “Nobody in the NFL has been doing more with less.” The MVP chants from fans are nice, but he knows success comes from the team, not the hype.
In the end, the lone Cowboy Dak Prescott is playing like an MVP—making huge plays with limited support.
