Dan Campbell Philadelphia Eagles Viral Sports News

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell just reminded everyone why Philadelphia might be the NFL’s most “hostile environment.” Ahead of Sunday Night Football against the Eagles, Campbell shared some wild (and hilarious) stories that prove playing in Philly isn’t for the faint of heart.

While talking to reporters, Campbell said

Translation? In other cities, fans politely welcome you. In Philly, they politely tell you to get lost—with a side of insults and maybe a flying object or two.

Campbell also recalled one particular nightmare from 1999, back when he played for the New York Giants. He said

Yes, you read that right—batteries and spit. The Philly fan starter pack!

Despite that, Campbell somehow calls it “a great place to play.” Maybe because no other fanbase can keep your adrenaline (and fear) so high for four quarters straight.

He did admit that times have changed a bit—“Some of those things you just can’t do anymore.” Still, every NFL player knows: when you step into Lincoln Financial Field, you’re not just playing football—you’re surviving it.

This Sunday, Campbell’s Lions return to that same battlefield. The question is—will they bring helmets… or shields?
