Jaire Alexander trade

The Baltimore Ravens just proved once again that they’re basically an NFL Netflix series—every episode comes with a twist! This time, it’s cornerback Jaire Alexander getting shipped off to the Philadelphia Eagles after playing just two games. Yep, two! Before he could even unpack his locker, the man’s headed to Philly.

Let’s be honest—Saturday trades are rarer than a calm day on NFL Twitter. The Ravens probably thought, “Our defense is fine, let’s grab a few picks,” while the Eagles said, “Our defense is snoozing—bring in Alexander to wake it up!”

The 28-year-old cornerback had signed a one-year deal with Baltimore back in June. But in true NFL drama fashion, his “Baltimore Chapter” lasted about as long as a preseason snack break. Now it’s on to a new city, new uniform, and (hopefully) a defense that knows how to tackle.

The Eagles’ defense this season? More “Sleeping Owl” than “Eagle Eye.” They currently rank 18th in scoring defense and 20th in total defense—ouch. This was the same squad that terrorized offenses in 2024! So naturally, they’re hoping Alexander can inject some fire back into the flock.

Still, the Eagles remain one of the league’s top teams, leading the NFC East by 2.5 games. Maybe this move turns them from “good” to “unstoppable.” The Ravens, meanwhile, are probably shrugging and saying, “Eh, we’ve got depth.”

Baltimore fans are left wondering, “Two games? Really?” While Eagles fans are already tweeting, “Welcome to Philly, Professor Alexander—teach our defense how to play again!”
