Joe Flacco injury

Cincinnati Bengals fans are praying extra hard this week — not for a win, but for Joe Flacco’s shoulder to survive Sunday. Because at 40 years old, this man has somehow become the Bengals’ last line of hope. Unfortunately, that very shoulder of hope is now… sprained.

Head coach Zac Taylor confirmed that Flacco didn’t practice on Wednesday due to an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder.

Taylor said, “We’ll see what we can potentially get out of him tomorrow… I think right now it’s probably at 50-50 on what will end up happening on Sunday.”
Classic coach talk — lots of “we’ll see” and “50-50,” basically meaning: “ask God, not me.”

Flacco injured his shoulder during last Sunday’s 39–38 loss to the Jets. He briefly went to the locker room, but came back to finish the game — because hey, the man’s pride is clearly stronger than his shoulder.

If he can’t play, the Bengals will have to turn back to Jake Browning. Yes, that Browning — the same guy who struggled in his three starts earlier this season when Joe Burrow went down. That’s the very reason Cincinnati traded for Flacco in the first place — trauma prevention.

To be fair, Flacco’s short run in Cincy has been pretty solid — 784 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions in just three games. Taylor even praised his readiness, saying, “If anybody in this league can get by with minimal reps right now, it’s him.”
Translation: the man’s old enough to skip practice like it’s senior privilege day.

Bottom line: If Flacco plays, Bengals fans can breathe again. If not — well, time to light some candles for Jake Browning.
