Sunday was pure nightmare fuel for the New York Giants. They blew a 28–6 lead and somehow lost 33–32 to the Denver Broncos — basically shooting themselves in the foot and then reloading. For three quarters, Denver couldn’t score a single point. Then suddenly, in the fourth, they dropped 33 points like it was a surprise Netflix plot twist.
The Giants were up big, then their defense collectively decided to take an early day off. Even after retaking the lead with just 30 seconds left, they still managed to let the Broncos march downfield and win it with a field goal.
As the final whistle blew, Brian Burns looked like a man ready to explode. Walking off the field, he unleashed his anger at defensive coordinator Shane Bowen — and the cameras caught every second of it.

Burns, at the end of this, very noteworthy: “… dropping eight in coverage!” pic.twitter.com/v19TRRViOi
Yup. “Dropping eight in coverage.” Translation? While the Broncos were sprinting downfield with the game on the line, the Giants were basically saying, “Everyone step back and pray!”
Burns didn’t calm down in the locker room either.
Did not get the sense in the locker room that the #Giants loved the final play calls on #Broncos game-winning drive.

As Brian Burns said: “We rushed three, dropped eight.”
Asked to expand, he chose not to answer.
This was as emotional as I’ve seen the Giants. They’re taking…
Watching the replay, the Giants’ defensive plan looked like it came straight out of a TikTok video titled “How NOT to defend a game-winning drive.”
And it wasn’t just Burns who lost it. Head coach Brian Daboll was caught on the sideline screaming at Bowen like a dad who just saw the electric bill.

This marks the second time this season the Giants have blown a game because of questionable late-game defensive calls. In Week 2, Dak Prescott did the same thing — got into field goal range in under 30 seconds. Bo Nix and the Broncos just copy-pasted that playbook.
For Giants fans, it’s déjà vu. For Brian Burns, it’s pure rage. He’s probably thinking, “I came here to sack quarterbacks, not attend a prayer meeting.”
