This is one of those classic NFL moments. Barely hours after the Baltimore Ravens officially parted ways with John Harbaugh following an 18 year run, the coaching rumor mill went into overdrive. And right at the center of that noise stands the New York Giants. Yes, the coaching carousel is spinning again, and this time it is not even trying to be subtle.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Giants have quickly emerged as a strong favorite to land Harbaugh. League insiders suggest New York has already started picturing him on their sideline. Schefter reports
Sources: John Harbaugh is expected to emerge as a favorite for the head coaching job of the New York Giants.

Harbaugh will be in demand for many teams, not just the Giants.
In other words, the Giants are not alone, but they are very much in the conversation.
And it gets even more interesting. SNY reporter Connor Hughes adds that the Giants were doing their homework long before Harbaugh became officially available. That is what you call preparation meeting opportunity.
I'm told the #Giants have done a ton of preliminary research on on John Harbaugh, preparing for the situation in which he were to become available. They will want to bring him in for an interview, I'm told.

There is so, so much that needs to happen before any hire is possible,…
Reading that list, it sounds less like a job description and more like a wish list for a franchise reset.
Harbaugh’s resume explains the hype. In 18 seasons with Baltimore, he had only three losing years, reached the playoffs 13 times, won six division titles, and lifted the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XLVII. Even if the ending in Baltimore was far from perfect, a coach with a 180 to 113 record and a reputation for winning does not suddenly lose his value.
The real question now is simple. Will the Giants actually seal the deal, or will this turn into another offseason fantasy? One thing is certain. When a Super Bowl winning coach hits the open market, the line forms fast, and New York clearly does not want to be standing at the back.
