It’s not been a great week for the New York Giants. Losing on the field wasn’t enough — now they’ve lost a chunk of cash too, all thanks to breaking the NFL’s concussion protocol!
The NFL and NFLPA completed their investigation and found that during quarterback Jaxson Dart’s concussion evaluation, the Giants’ staff got a little too involved. Picture this: medical staff checking Dart’s head, and suddenly, head coach Brian Daboll and running back Cam Skattebo stroll right into the tent — as if it’s a locker room meeting!
The result? Big fines.

The NFL announced that the Giants were fined $200,000, Daboll was hit with a $100,000 penalty, and Skattebo was fined $15,000. Yep — that’s three lighter wallets in the Big Apple.

According to the joint NFL and NFLPA release, Daboll and Skattebo entered the medical tent before the concussion evaluation was complete and spoke to Dart, “creating the perception that they were interfering” with the process.
The good news? Despite the chaos, the investigation found that Dart’s evaluation was handled properly, and he returned to play in Week 7 with no further issues.
Still, one has to wonder — will the Giants hang a “No Entry” sign outside the medical tent next time? Or maybe add a new chapter to their handbook: “How Not to Enter the Concussion Tent.”
