These days the biggest scam isn’t crypto, it’s not “drop-shipping gurus”—it’s Tom Brady looking dead serious on camera and saying: IShowSpeed can make it in the NFL.
Sure, we know Speed can run. He can scream on YouTube and entertain millions. But actually stepping onto an NFL field? Come on, this isn’t Netflix where you can CGI your way into being an athlete.
The whole thing happened on his new series “Speed Goes Pro”. In episode one, he brought in Tom Brady and Danny Amendola. At the end, Brady dropped this epic lie:
“Yeah, definitely. Tough, speed is there — jumping, attitude, worth ethic. All of it’s there, and all of it counts.”
This level of glazing should come with a “Slippery Floor” warning sign.
Let’s break down the reality:
– Height & Weight: Speed is 5’8”, 145 pounds. That’s about the size of a family pizza compared to NFL linebackers. One clean hit and the game would end with a “You Died” screen.
– Speed: His best 40-yard dash was 4.49. Sounds good—until you realize that would’ve ranked 26th at the combine, slower than guys twice his size. Standing next to NFL receivers, “Speed” becomes “Medium.”
– Agility: He ran a 7.2 in the three-cone drill, dead last among receivers. For context, a 6’6”, 271-pound defensive end ran nearly the same. If you move like a D-lineman, being a WR isn’t gonna cut it.
– Vertical: A 40-inch jump is nice, but when you’re 5’8” it just means you’re barely eye level with the defender’s helmet. Catch radius? Nonexistent.
And that “touchdown” everyone is hyping up? Yeah, that came against 39-year-old retired Danny Amendola. That’s basically like scoring in a kids’ camp scrimmage.
This isn’t even about clowning Speed—it’s about respecting just how superhuman NFL athletes are. Suggesting anyone can just stroll in without years of training is ridiculous. And the fact that Tom Brady, of all people, is the one saying it? That’s comedy gold.
