The incident happened during Sunday’s 34-12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Video footage showed Chase allegedly spitting in Jalen Ramsey’s direction. And what did Ramsey do? You guessed it—he threw a punch. The result? Ramsey was ejected from the game, while Chase stayed on the field, seemingly calm as if nothing happened.

Adding some spice, Chase himself insisted, “I ain’t ever opened my mouth to that guy,” denying that he spat. Still, the league felt the video evidence was enough to warrant a suspension. If Chase wants, he can have his case reviewed by the NFL-appointed hearing officers.
The financial impact isn’t small either—Chase will lose his weekly salary of $448,333 and a $58,823 active-game bonus. And this isn’t even the first spitting incident this season. Back in Week 1, Eagles’ Jalen Carter spat on Cowboys QB Dak Prescott and was immediately ejected.
Ramsey didn’t hold back in interviews either: “I don’t give a f— about football after that, respectfully,” he said, making it clear that he enjoys trash-talking, but the spit was the tipping point. “As soon as he spit, it was like ‘f— that.’”
