Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has done it again — stirred up controversy like only he can! This time, his comments have fans wondering if he’s more interested in gas pipelines than goal lines.
It all started during a call with The Wall Street Journal, where Jerry casually admitted that he’s prioritizing his natural gas empire over fixing the Cowboys’ struggling defense.
“There’s $100 billion present value with gas out there. That’s why I’m talking to you on the telephone rather than trying to fix our defense with the Dallas Cowboys.”
That one line was enough to set Dallas on fire. After three decades without a Super Bowl win, fans are realizing maybe the real problem isn’t the defense — it’s the gas prices!
Outraged fans wasted no time blasting him online:
You can GFY, Jerry.

This really shows what you think of the fans and the players.
This is negligence and I won’t be spending a penny more nor should anyone else on the @dallascowboys.

Poor Dak Prescott is playing at an MVP level, but the defense looks like it’s full of “gas leaks.” The result? A disappointing 3-4-1 record and a fanbase running on fumes.
Trying to calm the storm, Jerry later clarified that he’s “involved in many areas” — football, business, and, apparently, natural gas exploration.
“We probably will get criticized if we aren’t doing that. Goodness, I understand that perspective… You check where you spend your time, how you spend it, and that’s what’s going on here.”
Translation: While players are tackling opponents, Jerry’s tackling profit margins.
To be fair, this is the same guy who built a dynasty in the ‘90s, winning three Super Bowls and turning the Cowboys into the most valuable team in the world. But now, it seems he believes touchdowns are powered by money — not talent.
“This is called professional football to make a point. That means, it takes money to make it all go.”
Still, with the trade deadline approaching, fans are begging him to “fuel up” the team instead of his gas tank. Because if the Cowboys’ defense keeps leaking points, the fanbase might finally say — “Jerry, turn off the gas and fix the defense!”
