Jerry Jones’ “Thumbs Up” Went Rogue! NFL Says

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones might have been just a bit too excited after his team’s 37–22 road win over the New York Jets. Sure, the Cowboys scored big, but this victory came with a pricey twist — NFL just took a slice out of his bank account for a “fingertip mishap” — $250,000!

The incident unfolded at MetLife Stadium, where cameras caught Jones in his luxury box giving fans a classic middle finger. Yes, the one you’re thinking of.

According to the NFL, this “unfortunate gesture” was expensive enough to make even a billionaire flinch.

But Jones insists it was all an innocent accident. On Tuesday during his weekly 105.3 The Fan radio hit, he explained that he was actually trying to give Cowboys fans a thumbs up — but the wrong finger came out!

Jones added, “That was unfortunate. There was a swarm of Cowboys fans out front — not Jet fans — and right after our last touchdown we were all excited. I put up the wrong show on hand. But that was inadvertently done — if you want to call it accidental, you can call it accidental.”

Clearly, the NFL didn’t buy Jones’ “oops” excuse. A $250,000 fine says loud and clear: no accidental middle fingers allowed, even for billionaires.

So next time you’re celebrating a touchdown, maybe check which finger is waving before going live on camera. Otherwise, your bank account might take a hit too. And for Jerry, well… consider this a very expensive lesson in hand signals.
