J.J. Watt streaming chaos

He used to crush quarterbacks — now he’s crushing streaming platforms! NFL legend J.J. Watt just went on an epic rant, and honestly, he’s saying what every football fan is thinking: there are way too many streaming services.

The former Arizona Cardinals superstar missed his team’s big Monday Night Football win over the Dallas Cowboys — not because he didn’t want to watch, but because he simply couldn’t. YouTube TV users, including Watt, lost access to ESPN and ABC after Disney and Google failed to reach a deal.

And Watt didn’t hold back, dropping this gem online:

Preach, J.J.! These days, to watch one football game, you need seven subscriptions, three passwords, and a lifetime of patience.

Watt even mentioned that he already pays for ESPN+ to watch soccer — but still can’t get Monday Night Football. Imagine earning $130 million in your career and still being locked out of your favorite game night. Pain is universal, apparently.

He’s not alone, though. Around 10 million YouTube TV subscribers also missed out on the game. Fans flooded social media with the same frustration: “Monday Night Football locked behind 7 paywalls and a riddle!”

Others called out YouTube, Disney, and even the NFL itself. One fan nailed it: “The NFL caused this by slicing up games among greedy competing companies.” And Google’s only solution? A $20 refund if the blackout lasts too long — gee, thanks, guess that’ll buy us one sad pizza during the next missed game.

Watt’s rant hit home because it’s not about money — it’s about principle. Even a multimillionaire is tired of paying for a new subscription every time he wants to watch something simple.

At this point, football fans everywhere are asking the same question:
“Do we need Netflix, Disney+, ESPN+, Amazon Prime, Peacock, Fubo, and YouTube TV Premium — just to catch a single game?”
