The NFL coaching carousel is spinning faster than a New York subway turnstile, and John Harbaugh is suddenly the hottest ticket in town. Fresh off his surprising exit from the Baltimore Ravens, Harbaugh has made it clear that he is not rushing into anything. Yes, he wants to coach again in 2026, but no, he is not about to take the first job that slides into his DMs.
According to multiple reports, three teams have managed to separate themselves from the crowded field. The Giants, Falcons, and Titans have apparently done enough homework, sweet talking, and background flirting to earn a formal sit down with the Super Bowl winning coach. As NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero put it,
Former Ravens coach John Harbaugh continues to gather information on potential destinations, and the expectation is he’ll interview with the Giants, Titans and Falcons by the end of the week.

Other teams remain interested. But those three appear to have the inside track. pic.twitter.com/qC4z1iwWYN
That last line matters. A lot. Because several other franchises have been casually linked to Harbaugh this month, including the Cardinals, Browns, Raiders, and Dolphins. Yet somehow, all of them landed squarely in the “thanks, but no thanks” pile. It is the NFL version of being left on read.
The Giants, however, are going all in. New York is not just interested, they are campaigning. Ian O’Connor of The Athletic reported that Giants executive Chris Mara already met Harbaugh for lunch and even stopped by his house. That is not an interview, that is a vibe check. Mara himself confirmed the mutual interest, saying
Giants executive Chris Mara told @TheAthletic that he met John Harbaugh for lunch Sunday and had an informal meeting at the coach's house. People on both sides say Harbaugh remains very interested in the Giants job.

And if that was not enough star power, the Giants pulled out their ultimate endorsement package. Former quarterback royalty Eli Manning and recently departed coach Brian Daboll both reached out to Harbaugh to talk up the organization and its future. In a move that surprised many, Daboll even offered positive input despite no longer holding the job, which led to this report making the rounds
Eli Manning and Brian Daboll are among the voices who have called John Harbaugh to give him a strong recommendation on Jaxson Dart and the Giants. Daboll showing some class here. Good for him. pic.twitter.com/QOBQ8Qha59

Meanwhile, the Falcons and Titans are quietly waiting their turn, hoping professionalism and patience win out over New York’s full court press. Whether Harbaugh prefers bright lights, southern comfort, or a fresh rebuild remains to be seen. One thing is certain. This sweepstakes is just getting started, and every move is being watched like a primetime playoff game.
