But inside the NFL, the story isn’t so simple. Former players and analysts often point out that these gifts are more about respect than price. For offensive linemen, a quarterback acknowledging them at all can mean more than whatever is inside the box. Not every leader wants to flex with jewelry and watches; some prefer something more personal and low-key. Love might not have followed the flashy trend, but that doesn’t automatically make him a bad teammate.
