Mahomes About to Make History Again: Will the TD Machine Join the 300 Club This Time?

Honestly, there’s really nothing surprising about Patrick Mahomes at this point. The guy seems to write a new page in the NFL record books every single week. And with Monday night’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he’s about to hit yet another insane milestone.

Just last week, against the Ravens, he threw four touchdowns and became the fastest quarterback in history to reach 250 regular-season TD passes—accomplishing it in only 116 games. No one in NFL history had reached this magical number in fewer games.

But Mahomes isn’t stopping there—anyone who follows him knows that. He’s now aiming for 300 touchdowns. Currently, he has 298 TD passes combined (regular season + postseason). He needs just two more to break Aaron Rodgers’ record, who reached 300 TDs in 147 games. Mahomes, meanwhile, still has 9 games left this season and would achieve it in only 137 games.

The stats speak for themselves—it’s only a matter of time before the record falls. Maybe even this Monday!

Mahomes, of course, is thinking even bigger. After the Ravens game, he told Tracy Wolfson:

“I’m playing with amazing teammates and playmakers. It makes the job so much easier when you have people to throw to. We’re going to keep pushing, get better, and see if we can reach 500 touchdowns.”

One thing is clear—this guy is thinking about 500, while the rest of us are still marveling at 300! If Mahomes ever does reach 500 TDs, he’ll become only the sixth quarterback in history to achieve that feat.

And yes, this season alone, he’s thrown 7 TDs in just four games. Imagine what’s coming when Zavarius Ward recovers from injury and Rashee Rice returns to the field—the opposing defenses won’t get a wink of sleep.
