The NFL offseason is never short on drama, rumors, and trade fantasies. This time, the spotlight is on Las Vegas Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby. Fierce on the field and usually calm off it, Crosby now finds himself at the center of a growing storm that suggests his future in Vegas may be shaky.

Crosby’s frustration reportedly stems from disagreements with the Raiders over how his injury was handled late in the season. After being shut down for the final two weeks of the regular season, things escalated quickly. Reports say Crosby even left the team facility, a move that raised plenty of eyebrows. While he hasn’t formally requested a trade yet, the writing on the wall is getting harder to ignore.

And then came the real offseason spark. According to NFL insider Diana Russini, Crosby already has a preferred destination in mind, and it’s not exactly a secret. The New England Patriots, and more specifically, head coach Mike Vrabel.

On a radio appearance, Russini didn’t dance around the topic.

That quote alone has been enough to send NFL Twitter and offseason rumor mills into overdrive. Crosby isn’t just another name. He’s an elite edge rusher who still sits firmly in his prime. During the 2025 season, he recorded 10 sacks and 20 quarterback hits for the Raiders, numbers that underline just how disruptive he remains.

As for the Patriots, yes, they’re busy preparing for the Super Bowl. But even Super Bowl teams have flaws. New England’s pass rush hasn’t exactly been terrifying, and adding someone like Crosby would instantly change the tone of their defense. The ingredients are there: plenty of cap space, valuable draft picks, and a coach Crosby clearly wants to play for.

Of course, the big question remains whether the Raiders are willing to pull the trigger. Trading a 28-year-old superstar is usually a signal that a team is pivoting toward a rebuild. But keeping an unhappy star can be just as risky, if not worse.

If the Patriots manage to win the Super Bowl, expect this rumor to get even louder. The appeal of joining a winning culture, especially under a coach like Vrabel, is hard for any superstar to ignore.

For now, Crosby’s future remains uncertain. But one thing is clear: his heart seems to be leaning toward Foxborough, and the offseason drama is just getting started.
