It was another nightmare Monday for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — one they’ve sadly seen before. Mike Evans, the Pro Bowl receiver who usually gives defenses headaches, became the patient himself this time, leaving the field with both a concussion and a shoulder injury.
Yes, you read that right — a concussion + shoulder injury combo pack!
Late in the first half against the Detroit Lions, Evans went down hard while trying to haul in a deep pass from Baker Mayfield. For a few long moments, the entire stadium went silent. Fans, commentators, even Lions supporters were all wondering the same thing: “Is he okay?”
Prayers for Mike Evans after this #concussion & shoulder injury.

Worth listening to the broadcasters strain to avoid suggesting a possible concussion.
Gentlemen. hamstring & shoulder injuries don't make you lie COMPLETELY still like you are unconscious… pic.twitter.com/Q1ggTv8Tby
And yeah, that’s a fair point — when a player is lying completely still on the ground, it’s rarely “just” a hamstring or shoulder issue. That’s your brain saying, “we’ve got a problem here!”
Trainers rushed in immediately, helped him off the field, and soon after, Evans was carted to the locker room.
Mike Evans leaves the game on the cart.

The crowd stood and applauded, but there were no smiles — because everyone knows, the Buccaneers’ offense without Mike Evans is like a phone without Wi-Fi: completely lost.
The irony? Evans was already questionable going into the game due to a hamstring issue. Still, he suited up, probably thinking, “I got this!” — only for the football gods to reply, “No, take a seat, bro.”
This season, he’s managed to play just four games so far, catching 14 of 28 targets for 140 yards and one touchdown. On Monday night, he caught none of his four targets before getting hurt.
At this rate, even Bucs fans are starting to joke that the team’s medical staff deserves their own bye week.
