Saturday felt like a horror movie for Penn State fans — one of those where you know how it ends, but you still can’t look away. The loss to Northwestern wasn’t just on the scoreboard; it was a straight-up emotional knockout.
The biggest blow came when star quarterback Drew Allar went down — and didn’t get back up. Yep, it’s official: Penn State’s season is over, because Allar suffered a season-ending injury.

With just over three minutes remaining, Allar tucked the ball and ran. It looked like he was gearing up for a heroic comeback — but instead, two Northwestern defenders sandwiched him like a bad idea. He went down awkwardly, and destiny seemed to whisper, “Not today, bro.”
He stayed on the ground for several minutes before limping off with help. Once on the sideline, things only got worse as he was carted off to the locker room.

At this point, “bad season” doesn’t even begin to cover it. This is officially a very, very, very bad season. Three straight losses and now the senior QB’s college career comes to an abrupt end. Since Allar has no eligibility left, this injury is the final chapter of his college football story.
Coach James Franklin is probably somewhere praying that next season, nobody loses a knee, an ankle, or their sanity.
Fans online have already renamed the team “Pain State” and replaced Allar’s name with just a broken-heart emoji.
