In the NFL, mistakes come with a price — and the Baltimore Ravens just got the bill. Maybe they thought, “Who’s gonna notice a tiny mistake on the injury report?” Well, the league office did — like a strict teacher checking homework!

On Friday, the NFL officially fined the Ravens $100,000 for violating the league’s injury report policy. The reason? They listed quarterback Lamar Jackson as a “full participant” in practice when, in reality, the poor guy was taking limited reps with the practice squad while dealing with a hamstring injury.

The Ravens later realized they’d messed up. They quickly issued a statement saying they “clearly made an error and cooperated transparently with the league’s investigation.”

Their official apology statement sounded like something straight from a student caught cheating in class:

“It is critical that the Baltimore Ravens always operate with integrity and in full accordance with NFL guidelines. We clearly made an error regarding player injury reporting and cooperated transparently with the league’s investigation. We accept the decision by the NFL that we violated the policy and have taken steps to ensure that we will be compliant moving forward.”

In short: “We did bad, we’re sorry, and we’ll behave next time.”

The timeline was classic chaos. On Friday, Lamar was listed as a full participant. On Saturday, he suddenly became limited, and by Sunday—poof!—he was ruled out of the game.

The NFL later clarified that the error was due to “negligence,” not an attempt to gain a competitive advantage. Still, $100K is a steep fine—basically the price of a small touchdown bonus gone poof!

Ironically, Lamar came back after a three-game absence and threw four touchdown passes against Miami. So maybe that “injury” report was a bit overstated after all.

In the end, the Ravens learned the hard way: injury reports are as sensitive as playbooks these days.
Next time, they might as well write: “Lamar – spiritually present at practice.”
