Roger McCreary trade

The Tennessee Titans’ defense just took a hit. Reports confirm that cornerback Roger McCreary has been traded to the Los Angeles Rams. In return, the Titans will receive a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick, while sending back a 2026 sixth-rounder to L.A.

In short — the Titans just traded away one of their defensive bright spots for a future draft pick that might matter someday… or might just be another “what could’ve been.”

For the Rams, this deal couldn’t come at a better time. Their cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon has been sidelined since Week 2 after breaking his clavicle against the Titans. Head coach Sean McVay had said Witherspoon would need around 12 weeks to recover. So yeah, McCreary’s arrival feels like the Rams just got some oxygen for their secondary.

McCreary, on the other hand, took the classy route — saying goodbye to the Titans family with an emotional post on X (Twitter):

Drafted in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, McCreary is entering the final year of his rookie contract. This season, he’s recorded 33 tackles, one interception, one sack, and two passes defended in eight games — not bad at all!

Still, it seems the Titans said, “Thanks bro, but we’re rebuilding.”
Meanwhile, the Rams went, “Come on board — we need someone who can actually defend!

Maybe this trade works for both sides… but for Titans fans? It probably feels like their secondary is now made of tissue paper.
