Detroit Lions fans, Thursday night felt like the refs showed up to the game with some kind of mysterious “Cowboys Premium Boost Pack.” Every major moment somehow tilted toward Dallas, as if the officials were running a side quest of their own.
First, a safety gets wiped off the board — which made it seem like the refs in the replay booth were probably busy binge-watching something on Netflix. But the real comedy came right after: an absolutely obvious offsides by the Cowboys, so blatant that even a high school ref would’ve thrown a flag without thinking twice.
But the TNF refs? Oh no, they were clearly in a “mindfulness mode.”
The Lions offense started operating like:
“Cool, they jumped. Free play. Let’s take a shot.”
But the refs basically responded with:
“Flag? What flag? We didn’t bring any today!”

This moment was so ridiculous, so painfully obvious, that even the Cowboys were probably thinking, “Uh… are they really not calling that?”
It genuinely felt like Dallas had 11 players on the field + 2 invisible referees blocking for them. Meanwhile, the Lions spent entire possessions with a confused emoji floating over their heads.
And the NFL will surely respond with the classic line:
“Human error is part of the game.”
Sir, this wasn’t human error… this was human DLC content.
Social media did not disappoint. The top comment everywhere:
“The Cowboys played well — but the refs had an ALL-TIME performance.”
At this point, maybe the referees need VAR, AI assistance, or at least an eye exam. Because missing an offsides this obvious means they were definitely watching Cartoon Network instead of the snap.
