Miami Dolphins fans are probably wondering right now, “Is our quarterback Tua Tagovailoa playing football, or is he in a height-measuring contest?”
Because after Sunday’s 31–6 loss to the Cleveland Browns, Tua came up with an excuse that even the Browns’ defense couldn’t help but laugh at.
Yes, you heard that right. Tua said he couldn’t get Jaylen Waddle the ball because… he’s too short!
When asked by reporters, Tua said:
#Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa said part of the reason he didn’t target Jaylen Waddle much vs. the #Browns was because he had trouble seeing him over the O-line and D-line:

Translation? He couldn’t see over the offensive and defensive linemen.
Come on, Tua — you’re an NFL quarterback, not a submarine captain looking for a periscope!
Waddle got only three targets all game and caught just one — for 15 yards. At this point, the Dolphins might as well rename their offense to “Find Waddle Challenge.”
Despite another disastrous outing, head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed that Tua will remain the starter against the Falcons next week. Maybe he’s hoping Tua will bring a stool to the field next time.
Tua’s recent performances have been nothing short of a horror show — three interceptions in back-to-back games, becoming the first QB to do that since Philip Rivers in 2019.
Sure, he made history… just not the kind he wanted.
At this point, Dolphins fans probably have only one prayer left: “Dear God, please give Tua a few extra inches — of vision!”
