With Daniel Jones now starting for the Colts after he signed a 1-year, $14 million deal this offseason, the Vikings could be in line for a 4th-round compensatory pick in next year’s draft, depending on his playing time.

Vikings Set to Land 4th-Round Comp Pick After Daniel Jones Signs with Colts
Daniel Jones signed a one-year, $14 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts this offseason. Surprisingly, that move could end up benefitting the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings signed Jones late last season, but he never played a single snap for them. Still, under the NFL’s compensatory pick system, Minnesota is now projected to receive an extra fourth-round pick in next year’s draft due to Jones’ contract value with Indianapolis.
In the end, even without taking the field, Jones may have handed the Vikings a valuable draft asset for the future.
