VIDEO: Twins-Indians Game Hilariously Delayed After Squirrel Invades Field
The Twins and Indians are battling for supremacy in the AL Central during a three-game series this weekend, but it was a friendly rodent who stole the show.
Right in the middle of the action, a squirrel decided to take the field and certainly overstayed its welcome.
The Twins were cruising with a 4-1 lead when the squirrel started running around the infield.
The squirrel was allowed to do basically whatever it wanted to for nearly five minutes before the umpires told the grounds crew to take care of the situation.
The grounds crew eventually chased the squirrel out to left field, where it hopped up into the left field stands and started running around in the crowd.
A little squirrel invasion is always some welcome entertainment during a Saturday afternoon in the MLB.
